#31 - Free of pain at last

Philip is today pain free and  has had a return of appetite, with the help still of anti-nausea tablets  but mainly, we deduce, as a result of stopping the anti-cancer drug Tarceva which has known side effects of nausea and appetite suppression. He will continue to have paraplegia in his legs.

He downed a full cup of soup yesterday lunchtime and today at lunch had a four (small) course meal: soup, some of Jocelyn's Chicken Marengo with rice, some quiche and a little lamb curry which Jos had bought for her lunch. After such a long period unable to eat, let alone enjoy, his food it is good to see.

Griffin provided entertainment in the form of a hilarious 'grumpy, doddery old man' impersonation, bent over with walking stick. I think he's ready for NIDA. Jocelyn videoed the performance with Philip watching appreciatively.

Philip has been a little tired today after his influx of visitors yesterday. He loves to see people but we ask for your understanding if he's sleepy and a bit 'out to it' at times. The medication causes drowsiness but frankly this is preferable to being in pain.
